There's an elephant on the loose!

What is this I see before me?

If I didn't know any better I'd think it was an elephant.

Isn't he lovely?! And happy.

The Montmartre Elephant lives lived in Rue Gabrielle,  Paris 18th.

A week later I went to see if the elephant was still there. This is what I found. Sigh.

  1. Awesome! I think it might be a work of Sophie the photographe or from Goliath art. I fell in love with another elephant made of chalk, it is in the 13th : http://0z.fr/tqPfU

    1. Hi Celine, your link at the end of your comment, didn't work but I take it the chalk elephant you saw came from here http://frenchiesinparis.over-blog.com/article-philippe-baudelocque-lezart-bievre-106632962.html
      Wonderful indeed!
      Merci

  2. How very sad to see the elephant go a missing. There's a half cat (head) half fish (body), perhaps by the same guy, on Passage des Petites Ecuries; my toddler, Storsh, and I pass it everyday en route to school. We'd be crushed if he went missing!

    1. Yes, I'm afraid the elephant didn't last long. I live in some kind of hope that rather than being in a bin, it adorns somebody's bedroom wall somewhere...I'm afraid you will have to be prepared for the half cat half fish to disappear one day, but you will certainly find something else to be cheered up by. This is Paris after all!
